CAMERON HIGHLANDS PART 2: Strawberry & Butterfly Farm Tour

Hi, guys! This is the second part of the eco tour I did in Cameron Highlands. Click here for the previous post CAMERON HIGHLANDS PART 1: TEA & LAVENDER FARM

Big Red Strawberry Farm

The weather outside were still chill and cloudy. The taxi driver took us from the Lavender Farm to a Chinese Malaysian restaurant for lunch. We were served by a warm and delicious soup. All the vegetables were very fresh too.

From there we continued to The Big Red Strawberry Farm. The name of the place wasn’t just an advertising words, the strawberries were indeed big! They offered the self-pick service. To be honest, I wasn’t a fan of this fruit. I was tempted when I saw those hanging big red and ripe ones. We paid based on the weight we wanted to get and they gave us the plastic basket to fill in.

Mom was so excited hunting and picking those strawberries. I joined her to help holding the basket. The plasctic basket was ready to take away once we finished picking. We stepped out from the farm and shared ate it with family. They were very fresh and sweet.

Butterfly Farm

The most memorable of this trip for me was the Butterfly Farm. The track around the farm was neatly arranged so we could explore it easily. I saw many kinds of butterfly. They flew freely among the colorful flowers.

A group of big and black butterflies caught my attention. They were like a palm wide size. They didn’t fly around a lot and just staying on the plants instead. Luckily, there was a friendly ranger on the spot. He asked us if we wanted to hold the butterfly on our hand. We said yes immidiately. He gently moved one big butterfly from the plant to the back of my palm. It didn’t fly away. It was a great experince. This beautiful and gentle creature definitely made my day.

All of this farm tour can be done in one day. Renting a private vehicle or taxi is a good choice, as you can enjoy the trip without a rush. The beautiful nature view, the freshly made drink and fruits can be the remedy of our health.
